Email marketing means sending useful messages to people who asked to hear from you. The basics:
- Get permission. Only email people who opted in. In the US, the CAN-SPAM Act requires an accurate sender, honest subject lines, a physical address and a working unsubscribe link.
- Offer a reason to subscribe: a checklist, guide or discount relevant to your audience.
- Set up a welcome sequence: 2-4 automated emails that introduce you and deliver what you promised.
- Send consistently: pick a schedule you can keep.
- Watch engagement (opens, clicks, unsubscribes) and remove people who never engage.
